Our Team

Nicole Poell - Founder & President
Nicole fell in love with working breed dogs when Ninja came into her life in 2016. Ninja challenged her in numerous ways and made her into the handler she is today. They have done everything from obedience to nose work to French Ring. Working with Ninja has been the most rewarding experience for Nicole and informed her work with rescue dogs. In 2019, Nicole rescued an abandoned Malinois and started her journey into rescuing working breeds. She's since become an advocate for dogs as well as a foster, volunteer and rescuer for a few different rescue organizations. During this time, Nicole recognized the need for responsible and dedicated breed specific rescues, deciding to venture out on her own. She has seen the heartbreak in the dog world, and what keeps her going are the adoptions she has witnessed that gave dogs destined to die a second chance. Through Ninja's Woof Haus rescue she is promising to dedicate her time to save dogs in need and rehabilitate & place dogs with the utmost care and responsibility.

Leah Creighton - Co-Founder & Treasurer/Secretary
Leah's introduction to these amazing working breeds started similarly to many civilians - saw one in the wild and immediately pointed and said to her significant other, "I want one of THOSE!" Which, he instantly responded, "Absolutely NOT! No way! You know what that is?!" ...So, of course, they got their first Maligator, Nora. The perfect only child with a book of party tricks that may not even fit in your back pocket it’s getting so thiccccc.
But the ‘Game Changer’ title for Leah that ignited the flame to find these mals and dutchies their individually ideal furrever home no doubt goes to her dutchie, Axel. Axel the A$$hole has 100% pushed her to become the foster and overall dog handler she is today with working through his resource guarding and human reactivity/stranger danger, topped with the ripe cherry of having overall fear aggressive tendencies. But don’t worry, he’s always loved his four-legged friends!
And now, after years of volunteering and fostering for various rescues, Leah is stoked to be part of and help build the foundation of Ninja’s Woof Haus! She’s driven to continue doing her part in saving these deserving pups, especially with passing onto all her fosters pups the skills she’s learned and continues to learn. (Now if only she could teach them the skills to pay the bills...)
